Shelley has a passion to bring healing to those wounded by all traumas, specializing in religious trauma and sexual abuse recovery. She also enjoys helping couples learn how to communicate more effectively at every stage of their relationship, as well as working with families who are experiencing crisis. Shelley’s greatest joy is in helping client’s identify their value as the beloved.

Approaches and training:

Shelley uses narrative based trauma recovery methods, as well as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Overall, her approach is based on each clients’ needs. She earned her MS from Illinois State University in Clinical / Counseling Psychology. She is a certified Spiritual Director and also certified in Spiritual Formation through the Transforming Community work of Ruth Haley Barton. Shelley is trained in sexual abuse crisis counseling and worked for Stepping Stones (YWCA) as a crisis counselor for several years. She has also served in several pastoral roles for over 20 years. Shelley is a certified teacher and trainer in all things Enneagram.

Fun Facts:

Shelley is mom to 4 grown sons, has 2 astonishing granddaughters and a grandson arriving in November. Born in California, she grew up in Phoenix, AZ and is glad to live in a place where there are seasons! In her free time, she enjoys reading, walking, cooking for friends and family, learning and especially, loving her grandkids!
