Wendy Welter
wendy@truthin.love
Wendy has the most experience working with youth from kindergarten through 12th grade. She has a heart for all individuals challenged by anxiety, depression, trauma, and broken relationships. She is trained in cognitive therapies and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reunification). Wendy feels extremely blessed to be a part of Truth in Love Counseling and Care and is excited to broaden her services to children of all ages, from five to 99.
Approach:
Wendy has a desire to facilitate restoration with individuals by integrating biblical precepts with conventional therapies to achieve healing. Traditional therapies are helpful for unmasking and identifying root causes leading to change; full restoration, identifying the true self, and “perfect peace” happen in relationship with the True Healer. As a vessel of the Holy Spirit, Wendy uses cognitive approaches with biblical truths to encourage this process.
Quotes:
“Spiritual transformation does not result from fixing our problems. It results from turning to God in the midst of them and meeting God just as we are.” Dr. David G. Benner
“….’My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Cor. 12: 9-10
